George Clarke, a rising Irish film maker, discovered a piece of behind the scenes footage from Charlie Chaplin's film 'The Circus'.
The footage was apparently taken in 1928 outside of Mann's Chinese Theater at the Hollywood, California, premier of Chaplin's 'Circus'. The scene shows a large woman dressed in black with a hat hiding most of her face holding [to her ear] what can only be described as a mobile phone device and talking as she walks alone.
Mr. Clarke has studied this film for over a year now and has shown it to over 100 people and at a film festival, yet no-one can give any explanation as to what the woman is question is doing.
According to Clarke, he believes that the 1928 footage is that of a time traveler talking on a mobile phone. The clip can be found in the movie's DVD box set, Disc Two, under the title 'Hollywood Premier'.
See for yourself and feel free to leave a comment on your own explanation or thoughts about it.
